Canadian Consumer Price Index
What's It Worth Today?
Did you ever wonder what something purchased early in the century would be worth today? Here is the Canadian Consumer Price Index, beginning with 1947. In 1913, the first year in which the CPI was calculated, it stood at 10. It moved up and down between 1913 and 1947. It stood at 163 in June of 1998, so $1 in 1913 was already worth $16.30 then.
