American Legion
The American Legion is a society originally formed in 1919 of American veterans of World War I. It later grew to encompass military veterans of all successive wars such as WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc. They are primarily a veteran's fraternal organization (the largest in the world, consisting of over 3 million members), and would be of very little genealogical use as this is not their main area of concern.
