Roush/Raush Lines VA to OH to WVA

There is a site for the ROUSHES - over 100,000 descendants. A very patriotic family JOHN ADAM ROUSH, the German immigrant ancestor, who settled in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, had 10 sons, they ALL served in the Revolutionary War, ALL survived, only 2 of the sons did not marry, so their lines do not survive, but the rest of the 8 sons' lines DO. By going to the site www.roush.org, you will see the Revolutionary War information about each of them, making anyone who has ROUSH eligible for DAR or SAR. Even JOHN ADAM ROUSH, the Father, gave meat service to the Revolutionary War soldiers.

I go thru JACOB ROUSH whose daughter, CATHARINE, married PETER LALLANCE , of Ft. Harmar, Marietta, OH (Washington Co.). Their son, JOHN BAPTISTE LALLANCE, and his son, JOHN SCHREINER LALLANCE, ended up in Huntington, WV, where they are buried. My Father's Mother was CHARLOTTE MARGARET LALLANCE CALDWELL. She was the daughter of JOHN SCHREINER LALLANCE. JACOB and his Brother, PHILIP (PHILLIP) are buried in Cheshire, OH (Gallia County). I have been to their gravesites this last November and have confirmed neither have their graves marked with DAR or SAR insignia. JACOB died in 1830 and served in the Battle of Point Pleasant, Mason County, WV when he was about 40 years in age. Some current ROUSH ancestors live in Letart, WV (Mason Co.) and New Haven, WV (Mason Co.). There are other ROUSH lines all over the Southern tier of OH, they have a reunion every year. You might consider doing an article about this family for your July Revolutionary War Soldier Ancestor for your News article/forum.
