Announcing the formation of a new list
Submitted by GFS Susi@aol.com

The EFSS-L list is for serious researchers of EARLY FAMILIES in SOUTHERN STATES during the colonial period. The purpose is to share and exchange records, documentation, and other research regarding families who settled in southern states, especially in the MD, VA, NC and SC regions, in the 1600's and 1700's (prior to the Revolution). This will be a list based upon solid scholarship and archival research. It is intentionally broader than a surname or county list as we hope to discuss links between geographic areas and clusters of migrating families.

The list will be archived by Rootsweb, and archives will be searchable, so we hope that contributors will share as much primary data as possible.

To subscribe, please send a message to EFSS-L-request@rootsweb.com that contains the word

subscribe

and nothing else. If you prefer digest mode, please send the command instead to EFSS-D-request@rootsweb.com.

Once subscribed, you may post messages to the entire list by sending them to EFSS-L@rootsweb.com, regardless of which way you are subscribed.

If you have any questions, please direct them to me at the email address below.

Also, please feel free to forward this to any individuals and lists that you feel might be interested.

Pam
