The EFSS-L list is for serious researchers of EARLY FAMILIES
in SOUTHERN STATES during the colonial period. The purpose
is to share and exchange records, documentation, and other
research regarding families who settled in southern states,
especially in the MD, VA, NC and SC regions, in the 1600's
and 1700's (prior to the Revolution). This will be a list
based upon solid scholarship and archival research. It is
intentionally broader than a surname or county list as we
hope to discuss links between geographic areas and clusters
of migrating families.
The list will be archived by Rootsweb, and archives
will be searchable, so we hope that contributors will share
as much primary data as possible.
