The Ohio Chat gathers
Wednesdays at 9pmEST in ROOT CELLAR (They did). GFS
Sandi, GFS Julia and GFS Laurie are the
hosts.
Most evenings we offer a
lecture on one of Ohio's 88 counties. Our lectures are taken
from the 1850 and 1886 editions of Historical Collections
of Ohio: Containing a Collection of the Most Interesting
Facts, Traditions, Biographical Sketches, Anecdotes, Etc.
Relating to Its General and Local History; With Descriptions
of Its Counties, Principal Towns and Villages, by Henry
Howe LL.D. (Try reading that in one breath;) We have
presented this collection in alphabetical order, so we offer
our attendees copies of earlier lectures by email, too. In
case you're interested, we currently have
available:
ADAMS, ALLEN, ASHLAND,
ASHTABULA, ATHENS, BELMONT, BROWN, BUTLER, CARROLL,
CHAMPAIGN, CLARK, CLERMONT, CLINTON, COLUMBIANA, COSHOCTON,
CRAWFORD, CUYAHOGA, DARKE, DEFIANCE, DELAWARE, ERIE,
FAIRFIELD, FAYETTE, FRANKLIN, GALLIA, GREENE, HAMILTON,
HANCOCK, HARDIN, HOCKING, HOLMES, JACKSON, JEFFERSON, KNOX,
LAKE, LAWRENCE and LICKING.
If you want one, drop
GFS Julia an email. :) They are also available in the Genealogy Lectures
2.
The Ohio hosts compile
and occasionally send out emailings of Ohio resources, as
well as interesting odd bits of Ohio miscellany. And we try
to keep fairly current lists of resources available on a
county basis. GenWeb sites, regional archives, snail mail
addresses, etc.
Sandi, Julia and Laurie
invite you to bring your face to our place on Wednesday
nights!!
