Thank you one and all! Due to the things I found on the Internet, I FOUND my brothers. They knew nothing about myself and two sisters until I called them and said "Guess what?" They were young and left in the care of their dad. My two younger sisters and I were also left with other people. I had looked for years and never seemed to come close. In Jan 2000, my husband and I bought our computer and in 30 days I had them on the phone. We are hoping now to be able to meet for the first time and also my one sister that I've never met. This is a mess as I am heading out the door to go to work. Just wanted to thank someone for their hard work. Too many times people will pick bad things to say, I like telling people the good they do. Thank you for letting me take up your time

Exactly when was McMinn County, Tennessee formed? My ancestors at one time lived in Indian lands until McMinn County was formed.

In the court house in Athens, I copied some papers on one of my ancestors. His will, the division of all the land, the inventory of the land or farm, and the probation of the will. These papers are recorded in the year 1822. Doesn't that mean the death occurred in 1822? Some people say the died several years before that, but if his will was probated in 1822 would he have not died in that year or possibly the year before?

Gary,

I have just been reading our Weekly Fireside in the Genealogy Forum News as I do every month and I thought it was about time to tell you what an awesome job you do of editing it each month!! We are all proud of our newsletter and having a monthly consolidated issue of it on the website, gives "the world" a chance to see what we're all about.

I'm sure I can speak for all of us when I thank you for your editing job. It can't be easy

Thanks again,
GFS Jayne

Your site was recommended in a DearMytle's email and while it looks very interesting and I like the St. Patrick's Day theme, the green on green is VERY hard to read. No, it is impossible to read.
