The Genealogy Forum enters its thirteenth year of helping people find their ancestry. For the first eleven years we were only on AOL where we were one of the original forums. In the early days there were only a few of us around the forum. We had only a single chat room, a message board and a file library. Most of us were working on Apple IIc computers with 1200 baud modems. The online software was on a single 128K 5 1/4 inch disk and a second one for data. There was no such thing as a hard drive.

From this humble beginning, we have grown to become one of the best known places online to go for help with your genealogy. Last year we started to spread our knowledge to the internet and this month I am proud to announce that we have partnered with Rootsweb. This new alliance will provide a more complete offering for the people on the web. In the coming months we will be sharing a larger portion of our AOL forum with those on the web and hope to soon be offering even additional chats on the web site.
