Will of John Springer

    The Will of John Springer was written 4 Oct 1770, proved 15 Jun 1772, recorded in New Castle Co. Wills K: p. 35, and transcribed as follows: "In the Name of God Amen I John Springer of Christianna Hundred and county of Newcastle being weak in Body yeat of perfect mind and memory thanks be to Allmighty God for the Same and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die this I make as my last will and Testament and first of all I render my Soul to God who give me the same and my body I order to be buryed in a Christian like and decent manner nothing doubting the care of my Executors in the Same and as tuching my worldly Estate I do have and Constitute William Fillips and Alexander Moore Executors of this my last Will & testament and first of all I leave and bequeath to my well beloved wife the sum of Six pounds together with her bed and Cloaths thereunto belonging. ITEM I leave and bequeath to my Son Charles Springer the sum of five Shillings. ITEM I leave and bequeath to my son William Springer the sum of five Shillings. ITEM I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Springer the sum of five shillings, ITEM I have bequeath to my son Israel Springer the sum of five Shillings. ITEM I leave and bequeath to my Daughter Rebeca Springer the sum of five Shillings, ITEM I leave and bequeath to my son John Springer the sum of one hundred pounds. ITEM I do also leave and bequeath to my Son in Law John Agustis to him his Heirs and Assigns forever all that tract or persall of land I am now posess'd of with all the appurtainances thereunto belonging lying and being in Cristeanna Hundred and County of New Castle and it is my will and I do hereby order and apoint that he the said John Agustis shall for and in Consideration of this my Real Estate keep my wife and my Daughters viz Mary and Rebeca Springer during their natural life and find them in Meat Drink washing Aparal and Lodgings and at his own proper Expence or Cost out of his my Real Estate also at their or either of their Deseace bury them in a Cristian and decent like manner and farther it is my will and I do hereby order and apoint that he the said John Agustis shall pay unto my son John Springer the Hunder,d Pounds above said in three years after my deceas Devided into three Equal Galls and farther I leave and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Agustus all that may remain of my Movable or personal Estate after my just Debts and funeral Charge is paid and last of all I do hereby order and apoint or impower my Executors of this my last will and Testament to make a full Conveance of my real Estate to my Son in Law John Augustis acording to an Article that he the said John Agustis has under my hand and this I do allow to be my last Will and Testament disalowing disanuling and revocking all other Wills and Testaments as Wittness my Hand and Sale the Day and year above Written.
